Normanton Pork
The breed of pig we produce is the Gloucester Old Spot. All of our pigs are kept outdoors for 12 months of the year. They are free to roam, root and wallow as they please.
This breed of pig is the oldest breed of pig in the world. The Gloucester Old Spot's origins are in the cider orchards of the Berkeley Vale where they would use the windfall fruit to supplement their grazing.
The pork produced from the Gloucester Old Spot is much more succulent and tasty than the pork produced from modern breeds which is often dry and tasteless.
As with the beef and lamb we vacuum pack to prevent freezer burn during storage and we blast freeze it to ensure the ice crystals formed in the meat during freezing are kept to a minimal size.
We sell our Gloucester Old Spot Pork either in joints, chops etc or by the half or whole pig. We also make some fantastic Gluten Free Gloucester Old Spot Sausages.
