Yellow Oyster
Appearance: Much the same as the Grey Oyster Mushroom but with a vivid yellow colouring. Its vibrant colour is reduced slightly during the cooking process.
Characteristics: This mushroom originates from North East Asia and can survive very low temperatures. The flesh of the yellow oyster mushroom is much more fragile than that of the grey or pink oyster. It has a delicate flavour and a soft, seafood-like texture.
Shelf Life: The shelf life of the Yellow Oyster is short much like the Pink Oyster, 3-5 days when kept refrigerated.
How to Cook: The Yellow Oyster can be cooked much the same as the Grey Oyster or Pink Oyster Mushrooms. Like the Pink Oyster, the Yellow Oyster must be cooked fresh.
